Release of Jolomea 0.0.2

Jolomea 0.0.2 has been released.

Jolomea (JOomla LOcalisation Made EAsy) is a component made (under the GPL license) in order to facilitate the localisation process of a website made with Joomla.

The management of a Joomla mulitlingual site is not easy. 3rd party components (VirtueMart....) usually use their own localisation solution rather than using the Joomla API.

Sometimes translators have to translate :

  • data in the database
  • array PHP file
  • define PHP file
  • classes PHP file....
  • Ini PHP file...

Translators are not supposed to master the PHP language. In addition, a lot of time is wasted.

Joomla centralize all the localisation process in one component. The localisation can be made online, and assisted by the Google Translate web services.

The localisation can also be made offline. A XLIFF / PO export/import feature exists. The files can be for instance imported into the Google Translation Tookit or under POEdit.

Jolomea 0.0.2 is still alpha. Use it at your own risk...
